The Athena's Cup (Fund-Raiser)

ATHENA’S HOME NOVELTIES PLANS TO BREAK WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST BRA CHAIN IN THE NAME OF BREAST CANCER. This aggressive initiative – called The Athena's Cup – will come to fruition on Sunday January 10, 2010. The Athena’s Cup (http://www.athenascup.org) “We ask that each person donate a mere $5 along with a bra, or bras. The goal is to raise $500,000 for breast cancer research. You can even write the name of a loved one who has battled this horrific disease inside the bra. Mail your donations to the Athena's Cup headquarters - 640 Winter Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895. Donations must be received no later than January 7, 2010.
Concert (Music)
St. Kieran Arts Center presents the Northern Lights Band, November 8 at 2 PM. Performing an exciting mix of traditional bluegrass and "newgrass", with touches of jazz, blues, rock, gospel, classical, and western swing, their concerts appeal to audiences of all ages. Tickets are $12 adults and $6 for students.

"The Civil War and its effects on Vermonters" with Howard Coffin (Historical program)
Time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location: Gilman Middle School, River Road, Gilman, VT
Vermont Civil War historian and author, Howard Coffin, will be guest of the Lunenburg Historical Society. His program, "The Civil War and its effects on Vermonters", based on his years of research of individual lives, will provide insight into the impact this war had on every community and the common soldier.
